Some Background on This Contest

As many of our friends remember, Bitsy the Guinea Pig passed away in May 2012 after a 2-month fight against lymphoma.

Before Bitsy passed away, The Humans wanted a way to commemorate Bitsy’s special place in the HappyCavy Herd. The result was Bitsy’s Guinea Pig Video Portrait, a special video that tells a story of Bitsy’s sunny outlook on life: Always sure the sun will shine despite what may come.

Shortly after Bitsy’s passing, The HappyCavy Humans nominated Bitsy’s Guinea Pig Video Portrait to be considered for the CareFRESH Video of the Month Award. In May, her video won(!) and was featured on the CareFRESH website.

And the story gets even better…

Bitsy’s video has recently been selected by CareFRESH as their Video of the Year, the award for which is a shipment of twelve 60L bags of CareFRESH Natural Pet Bedding. What a generous prize! Bitsy would be so happy!

Because each HappyCavy is a rescued guinea pigs, Hammy and The Herd decided that the winnings should be put towards helping other guinea pig in need.

And that’s why HappyCavy is having a contest to award twelve 60L bags of CareFRESH to a guinea pig rescue or shelter. Plus, CareFRESH will feature the winning rescue or shelter on their website as a Featured Rescue for October!

Requests of the Winning Rescue/Shelter

• The winning rescue will be asked to send a photo of the CareFRESH shipment, as well as their rescue staff and/or rescue guinea pigs to HappyCavy at happycavy at gmail.com to be used for online sharing. A copy of this photo will be sent to CareFRESH. HappyCavy will retain the rights to this photo, while granting sharing permission to CareFRESH.
• To be a CareFRESH Featured Rescue for October, the rescue or shelter will be asked by CareFRESH to shoot a video (phone quality is fine) telling their story. Questions will be provided by CareFRESH.

Contest Rules:

By casting your vote you agree to the following rules:

• Guinea pig rescues or shelter in USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia, and New Zealand are eligible.
• Contest will end at October 1, 2012 at 12:01 AM Pacific Time.
• Entries may be changed or modified before contest end, however, only one entry per Facebook account will be counted.
• To cast a valid note, you must use your personal Facebook account. Sorry, votes made from Facebook pages or non-human accounts will not be counted.
• The winning guinea pig rescue will be determined by highest number of votes cast for that rescue.
• The winner will be announced on the HappyCavy Blog at http://www.HappyCavy.com/blog.
• In the event of a tie, HappyCavy will randomly select a winner from the tied rescues or shelters.
• The winning guinea pig rescue will be contacted by HappyCavy to determine contact information and shipping address.
• The winning guinea pig rescue will receive a free shipment of twelve 60L bags of CareFRESH Natural Pet Bedding as a 1-time delivery to the addresses provided to HappyCavy.
• Failure to follow these rules may disqualify your vote.
• Neither HappyCavy nor its agents, successors, or assigns shall be liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of the usage of a prize by any winner including but in no way limited to each and every aspect of the contest prize.
