Say “hi” to Annie, the newest cavy to join our family.

With the New Year fast approaching, while humans are looking ahead to new habits and new adventures, it’s the perfect time to make a little more room in the HappyCavy forever home for one more friend. (Squee!)

Introducing Annie, the newest member of the HappyCavy family!

About Annie the Guinea Pig

At just over thirteen weeks old, little Annie comes to us from the Oregon Humane Society where she arrived after a short stay at another shelter in Washington State. We don’t know much else about her short life except that she’s a spry, energetic pig who’s full of love and life.

Since JuneBug and Baby Roo are very closely bonded and both over five years old (squarely within the senior guinea pig age bracket), it was important that any new pig in the family could bring some energy and much-needed companionship to help the senior pigs age even more gracefully. We’re hoping Annie’s spirited young cavy energy makes her the perfect new best friend for her older cage-mates.

An eating Annie is a happy Annie.

So far, Annie’s favorite activities are wheeking for pea flakes, spying on her humans (she loves to peek her head over the cage liner to see who’s coming and going) and running laps in the early morning and evenings. Sometimes she has more energy that she knows what to do with!

For details on Annie and her adoption, see About Annie the Guinea Pig.

Where’s Annie Now?

Since her adoption on December 17, Annie has been living separately from JuneBug and Baby Roo during a two-week “safety quarantine” period to give the Humans time to ensure she’s healthy and happy. Annie will get to meet JuneBug and Baby Roo on December 29, and we’re hopeful their introduction will be a breeze.

Welcome Annie to HappyCavy

Annie will be joining her new sisters on January 9. We hope you stop by on January 9 to say “hi.” Annie would be so happy to know you came to see her!
